Ensembl: The Ensembl project produces genome databases for vertebrates and other eukaryotic species, and makes this information freely available online.
ESHG: European Society of Human Genetics
Genatlas: GENATLAS contains relevant information with respect to gene mapping and genetic diseases. The database was created in 1986 by Jean Frézal and is located on INSERM U781.
GenBank: This system provides GenBank access via Entrez or Genbank IRX. Genbank IRX is updated daily. Contains descriptions of DNA and RNA sequences with 25 or more nucleotide bases. Includes more than 2,209,000 reported sequences, totaling more than 1.5 million bases.
Genetic/Rare Conditions Support Groups and Information: Information on genetic conditions or birth defects for professionals, educators, and individuals. Lists, national & international organizations, condition categories, genetic counselors / clinical geneticists, children & teen sites, other.
Genetics Home Reference: Genetics Home Reference provides consumer-friendly information about the effects of genetic variations on human health.
ISCB Internatinal Society for Computional Biology
MITOMAP: A human mitochondrial genome database
National Down Syndrome Society: Information resources about Down Syndrome including referral services, research, advocacy, news, special programs, and a listing of publications for sale.
Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man: This database is a catalog of human genes and genetic disorders. The database contains textual information, pictures, and reference information. It also contains copious links to NCBI's Entrez database of MEDLINE articles and sequence information. The OMIM Morbid Map, a catalog of cytogenetic map locations organized by disease, is now available.
